Saved?
- Realize God Loves You.
John 3:16 says, "For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life." The Bible teaches that regardless
of your background, age, race, or any other factor, God
loves you and desires a genuine, personal relationship with
you.
- Realize You Have Sinned Against a Holy God and
Repent. Romans 3:23,
"For all have sinned, and come short
of the glory of God." No one is perfect. We have all
broken God's commandments. This is called sin, and it
separates us from God. You must be disgusted with your sin
and turn from it.
- Realize Sin Has to be Paid.
Romans 6:23 tells us, "For
the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord." The "wage" or
pay we receive for our sins is death, which according to the
Bible is eternal separation from God in a literal place
called Hell.
- Realize Jesus Christ Died to Pay the Price for Your
Sins. Romans 5:8
says, "But God commendeth his love
toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us," If we choose to accept Christ, we do not
have to pay the price of death and Hell for our sins because
Jesus paid for our sins when He died on the Cross and rose
again three days later!
- Pray and Ask Jesus Christ to be Your Savior,
Believing with your Whole Heart.
Romans 10:13 says, "For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved." A promise directly from God that if you will
pray to Him, confess that you are a sinner, ask Him to
forgive your sins, and accept Him as your Saviour; He
promises to save you and give you the free gift of eternal
life.
Sure?
-
Now You're a Child of God.
John 1:12 says, "But
as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the
sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" You
are a "New Creature" [2 Corinthians
5:17] and no more a Child of the Devil [John
8:44], no longer a slave to commit the sins of the
past.
-
You Can Have Assurance.
John 6:47, "Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting
life." 1 John 5:13 "These
things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the
Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal
life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."
The Devil would have you doubt and fear, but the LORD wants you
busy serving, not busy worrying.
Your Soul is Kept by the Savior's Power and
Not Your Own. John 10:28-29
tells us, "And I give unto them eternal
life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck
them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater
than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's
hand."
Now You Have the Holy Spirit as Your Teacher.
John 16:13 says, "Howbeit
when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into
all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he
shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to
come." God has magnified His Word above all His Name [Psalm 138:2], preserved it
in perfection [Psalm 119:140],
would He then leave it's truths unknown?
Serving?
-
Be Baptized and Unite with
a Bible Preaching Church.
Acts 2:41 says, "Then
they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the
same day there were added unto them about three thousand
souls." Hebrews 10:15
"Not forsaking the assembling of
ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but
exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the
day approaching." No newborn child is left to face
the world alone, God designed the Family to support,
challenge and nurture the young child until it matures. So
to the Church designed for the "Perfecting" of the Saints.
[Ephesians 4:11-13]
-
Study God's Word Daily.
1 Peter 2:2, "As
newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye
may grow thereby:" 2 Timothy
2:15, "Study to shew
thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Psalm 119:11, "Thy
word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against
thee." Job 23:12,
"Neither have I gone back from the
commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his
mouth more than my necessary food."
It is so very important for a new Christian to build a habit
of daily scripture reading and study. There is absolutely no
replacement when it comes to knowing what God said about a
matter, rather than what someone said he meant. -
Pray Daily.
John 14:13 tells us, "And
whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the
Father may be glorified in the Son."
1 John 1:9, "If
we confess our sins, he is
faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse
us from all unrighteousness." Keep a short account
with God. Don't let a week's worth of sin burden your soul
before you confess it and receive forgiveness.
-
Serve in your Local Church.
Romans 12:1 says, "I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that
ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable
unto God, [which is] your reasonable service."
Volunteer your time and talents to meet the physical needs
of the Church, bearing the load of the ministry where you
are able.
-
Tell others that Jesus can give them a
New Life. Mark 16:15 says, "And
he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the
gospel to every creature."
Acts 1:8, "But ye shall
receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:
and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in
all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of
the earth."
-
Remember God's promise to the Faithful
Christian. 1 Corinthians 15:58,
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye
stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the
Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain
in the Lord.
The
Christian Life is a Daily Walk, not a Sunday Suit.
